Art + Math = Fractional Me
I love integrating art into my classroom whenever possible. This year, I was introduced to a great project by a coworker. It's called Fractional Me. Fractional Me is a portrait created out of small squares. Students are only allowed to use whole and half squares for ease of counting later on. They construct their portrait and are then responsible for determining the fractional amounts of squares for each color. The kids really enjoyed making them!
