Want to Volunteer in My Classroom?
You will need to attend one of the PTA volunteer training classes if you have not done so. This is not necessary if you will be reading to the class or if you have been previously trained. Dates and times for the training classes scheduled are found in the PTA and school newsletters.
The room mothers and I will meet as soon as possible at the beginning of the year and discuss the various volunteer opportunities. Then together we will set up a schedule. The room mothers will be in charge of sending out a calendar for the month and you will be able to contact them with the dates that you would like to volunteer. The kids like having you in the room and I really appreciate the help!

Important Things to Remember About Volunteering
1. Always be on time. The class has a tight schedule and a lot to accomplish in a day.
2. Story time: Please be prepared with books to read to the children for approximately 30 - 40 minutes. If you need help, stop by the library and the librarian will be happy to help you make a selection or two. You could also check with me and see if we are currently reading a book in class. You could read a few chapters in it if you would rather do that.
3. If you cannot make your scheduled time please call/email another parent to try and find a substitute.
4. Please let the Academic Coordinator know if you are unable to make your scheduled time and whether you found a replacement. She will communicate the necessary changes to me.
5. Please do not bring younger siblings into the classroom while you are volunteering.
